Jeep to Produce Electric Wrangler
Chrysler LLC is jumping on the electric-hybrid bandwagon and producing an electric vehicle for each of the three brand names (Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep). Jeep’s participation will be in the form of an electric hybrid Wrangler, (Jeep EV for now) based off their Renegade concept from last year (pictured above).
Wrangler has always been one of the best selling names in the Jeep line up, and has doubled in sales since the four-door version of the sport utility vehicle went on sale. The electric hybrid Wrangler may go on sale as early as 2010. Sales may jump even higher when an environmentally friendly (and non-gas guzzling) version of the Jeep comes to the public.
