Jeep Pickup Put On Hold

Waiting for the Jeep Pickup we told you about? Well, looks like you’ll have to stop holding breath and crossing fingers. The American jeep and crossover maker has put plans for their Pickup on hold. It’s too bad, Jeep dealers in Knoxville, DC and even NYC were all waiting for this newly designed vehicle.

According to sources at PickupTrucks.com, CEO Mike Manley has said that “resources at Chrysler are all tied up in other projects at the moment. With the full brunt of the company’s operations directed towards transmission and small car development, there’s simply not enough cash on hand to go creating a whole new member of the Jeep family.”

Manley added when new Jeep models hit American dealerships, they will also launch in international markets. He also said the company can “easily see a metric-ton version of the pickup selling well outside the States.”

PickupTrucks.com stated that Southeast Asian and European markets are particularly fond of trucks with cargo capacities of around 2,205 pounds.

  1. JEEP, I just hope you REALIZE THE BEAUTY of the concept P/U you’ve been teasing us with for the last few years (pictured in the article above) – It would be THE ONLY TRUE FULL-TRAIL capable P/U SPORTING a USABLE BED LENGTH. JEEP, don’t ruin it by turning it into YET ANOTHER “pretend p/u” (short-box compromised, 4 door pavement only goer) like the rumors say you are going to do.
